Prof. Thomas Lion multiple methods for detecting threatening fungi and viruses. They pose a considerable problem to many patients with a weakened immune system, such as after a bone marrow transplant or during chemotherapy. With Prof. Lions procedure, it is possible to reliably identify the pathogens (e.g. adenoviruses) and to begin with the treatment early on, e.g. before the first symptoms of an infection occur.
