For over ten years, Dr. Thomas Felzmann has worked on developing the cancer vaccine 'Trivax’. For this, he examines how the immune system of the human body defends itself against tumour cells from the ground up, where the triggers for this defence mechanism are and how they can be activated. For his vaccine, Dr. Felzmann basically instructs certain immune cells to seek out and destroy cancer cells. First clinical studies are promising; the vaccine is also to help adult patients in the future.
