The Wirtschaftsfilmtage film festival: Silver Victoria for DIRECT TV documentary

At the international Wirtschaftsfilmtage, the TV documentary “Little heroes – great opportunities” was awarded a Silver Victoria in the category “Technology, research & development, environment”. The 45 minute film is a coproduction of the Children’s Cancer Research Institute, the St. Anna Children’s Hospital, the German Childhood Cancer Foundation and Pammer Film. The film project was financed through “Overcoming Cancer with Research”, a scientific communications project sponsored by the European Commission.
From the 14th – 15th April 2010, with the awarding of the Grand Prix Victoria, Vienna stood at the centre of the 24th International Wirtschaftsfilmtage. The 303 entries were a record number this year. The entries came from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, South Tyrol and Liechtenstein. 61 films made the shortlist for a total of 14 categories. These productions were assured a Silver Victoria.
Accolade for “Little heroes – big opportunities”
This television documentary, highly emotional and factually substantiated in terms of its images and messages, received a Silver Victoria for its striking presentation of the services and efforts of internationally renowned childhood cancer researchers, physicians, private initiatives, childhood cancer patients and former sufferers.

This time the Grand Prix went to die element p GmbH. The creative team impressed the jury with its original production "do.it.yourself.hospital"
The Internationale Wirtschaftsfilmtage, which has taken place every 2 years since 1963, is the oldest and most renowned festival for corporate films from the German-speaking regions. This cross-border industry forum not only honours outstanding creative performance but also identifies future trends. Thus, the internet with its social media technologies offers diverse new application possibilities through which to communicate services and products.
Professional corporate films are a central element of successful market communication and thereby decisive in the competitiveness of companies and facilities. A good corporate film is based on a strong idea, a good concept and high quality execution.
The 24th Internationale Wirtschaftsfilmtage took place under the patronage of Federal Minister Dr. Reinhold Mitterlehner and Mayor Dr. Michael Häupl. President Dr. Christoph Leitl (Austrian Chamber of Commerce) is the patron of the awards together with the chamber representatives from Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, South Tyrol and Luxemburg.
