Helmut Gadner, MD, FRCP (G)
- Medical specialist for pediatrics and secondary specialisation for pediatric hematology and oncology
- Medical director of the St. Anna Children’s Cancer Hospital, Vienna
- Head of the St. Anna Kinderkrebsforschung, Vienna
- 1940 born in Bolzano, South Tyrol
- 1959-1966: Studying Medicine at the universities of Vienna and Freiburg
- 1967-1969: Training in secondary medical specialisation for hematology at the University of Modena, Italy
- 1969-1978: Training as medical specialist in pediatrics at the university clinics of Berlin, Zurich and Modena
- 1973: Italian grant of doctor as medical specialist for pediatrics
- 1980: German grant of doctor as medical specialist for pediatrics
- 1980: Assumption as medical director of the head of the St. Anna Children’s Cancer Hospital. With the assumption of direction H. Gadner was also entrusted with the planning and organisation of the building and re-building of the hospital. During this period he encouraged a new constructioning of the medical facility in particular the further development of a hematological-oncological ward into a centre for child cancer and stem cell transplantation.
- 1990: Since May 1990 werden nurses and doctors of eastern European countries are trained at the St. Anna Children’s Cancer Hospital (Gigax-Foundation)
- Research interests: Leukemia and langerhans cell histiocytosis
